Front Valley Refurbishments, Washington

We recently completed a roof repair project in Washington, North-East England, focusing on fixing worn-out front valleys and making some essential roof repairs. Here’s how we helped this homeowner restore their roof and protect their property.
Fixing Front Valleys
Over time, roof valleys can wear down, causing leaks and other issues. This homeowner’s roof needed some care, so we tackled the front valleys and a few other problem areas to make everything as good as new.
What We Did
Safe and Secure Access
To get the job done safely, we set up scaffolding to access the roof. Safety first, always!
Replacing the Front Valleys
- We removed the old, damaged valleys and cleaned away all debris.
- Installed strong, treated wooden battens to create a sturdy base.
- Added a breathable underfelt to keep the roof ventilated and weatherproof.
- Fitted brand-new lead flashing to stop water from sneaking in.
- Carefully trimmed and resealed the valley tiles for a clean, polished look.
Fixing Other Roof Issues
On the front left side of the valley:
- We added vents and trays to improve airflow and support the roof.
- Replaced damaged tiles and nailed them securely in place.
- Checked and reinstalled any loose ridge or verge tiles.
Finishing Touches
Once the work was done, we cleaned up the site and took away all waste, leaving the property spotless.
- The roof is now in top condition, ready to handle any weather that comes its way. With improved ventilation and protection, it’s set to last for many years to come.
