The Project: Valley Refurbishment and Roof Replacement

This property’s valleys and off shot roof were showing signs of wear and tear. Our goal was to replace and upgrade these areas, using modern materials and techniques to provide a long-lasting solution.

What We Did

Safe Roof Access

To ensure our team could work safely, an external contractor supplied and installed HSE-approved scaffolding at the front of the property. The scaffolding included two 4m lifts, allowing secure access to the roof.

Valley Refurbishment

• Removed the old tiles, valley, felt membrane, and ridge tiles where necessary.
• Installed new Code 4 leadwork to both valleys, following building regulations to ensure durability and water resistance.
• Fitted 162gsm breathable underfelt up either side of the valleys, extending about a meter past them for added protection.
• Reinstalled the roof tiles, bedding them on with maintenance-free Flexim putty, and trimmed tiles to fit the valleys perfectly.

Off Shot Roof Replacement

• Installed new concrete Wessex roof tiles for the off shot roof, reusing undamaged tiles from the main roof to replace any broken ones.
• Fitted new concrete ridge tiles to the off shot roof, also secured with Flexim putty for a maintenance-free finish.
• Added a new grey universal dry fix verge system, offering a sleek, low-maintenance solution.
